Being a Senior Project Manager at Sigma Software means to lead a Competence Center and to run a portfolio of projects in a specific business domain, responsible for both overall portfolio success and the success of all people you lead. You have to possess a few key expertise in deep, but generally contribute to all areas forming the present and future of the Competence Center.

Don’t worry, you will get help from a Program Manager and your mentor, who is responsible for both your success and the success of the larger unit, combining a few Competence Centers together.

  • Every day you improve your expertise in service delivery models and project process tailoring, as well as coaching skills to help your team of PMs, because you know that your team of PMs is your key to success
  • You know how to handle force-major issues and, if it is necessary, can take over the steering wheel of a specific assignment, to help Project Manager in getting it out of skidding. This is why SPM’s expertise in project and delivery management has to be so profound
  • You take an active role in not only keeping constant close contact with key teammates but also take part in choosing the best experts on the market to make the Center even stronger and more attractive
  • You keep a close eye and constantly take proactive and corrective actions on KPIs, such as revenue, profitability, utilization, and attrition
  • You can act as an Account Manager on specific assignments and allocate time to review a new business proposal prepared by one of your PMs

As an SPM, you’ll contribute to two areas: big project and collaboration with customer from Denmark and huge tasks related to account and a PM team.

You’ll also face such things:

  • work in a large Scrum team of highly-skilled specialists (and we mean it!)
  • participate in the product roadmap creation and long-term planning
  • maintain and develop relations with the customer
  • propose new ideas on the processes to address the project needs

 

Customer

Our customer from Denmark is a leading developer of Enterprise Electronic Document Management System with thousands of customers.

Project

Project: Electronic Document Management System

The software enables municipalities to capture, process, store, archive, and supply information in a systemized and controlled manner. There are thousands end-users that use the software for everyday work as their main tool, adapting it for their unique needs.

We use Microsoft technology stack. The project is in the ongoing development phase. Maintenance and support are also performed when specifically instructed by the client.

Account:

The account is one of the largest in Sigma Software.
There are several product teams of different sizes (starting from mid-size to large teams). Every team is balanced and has stable senior staff who work for the account for years.

Development teams are mostly on the UA side (Including Project Managers and Test Engineers). There is an Architect on both our and client’s side.
The customer side incudes a Product Owner, a Test Manager, a Budget Owner, and an Architect.

 

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of project and program management methodology, tools, and techniques
  • At least 5 years of project management experience
  • Strong risk management skills
  • Strong tactical planning and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with customers and project teams
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, conflict resolution capabilities
  • Advanced understanding of corporate environment and objectives; ability to propose solutions for their achievement

Responsibilities

  • Supervise services and projects delivery by active leadership of PMs’ team. Ensure projects start, tailoring, and delivery according to the best fit delivery model and best project management practices
  • Provide high quality portfolio risk analysis, tracking, acting upon and communicating risks properly towards customers
  • Control KPIs, such as profitability, revenue, utilization, attrition and take active actions to keep them at best possible level
  • Be resource and people manager, actively participate in planning required hires in collaboration with Recruiting team, ensure onboarded people’s professional growth
  • Plan resources efficiently to provide best possible utilization, compose teams so they deliver best possible balance of quality and profitability
  • Be an entrepreneur and act as customer’s agent, by developing customer relations and business insight, and proposing extra services customers may need
  • Participate in pre-sale and up-sale on current account
  • Take active part in business and contract negotiations, as well as defining business terms in contracts
