Proptech is the domain-to-be due to the intensive growth and application of the latest technologies, such as data engineering, ML/AI, augmented reality, etc. Startups in this niche have vast investments and resources to bring any creative initiatives to life.

As a Data Engineer, you will be building a high-performing Data Platform (across multiple internal and external asset lifecycle products and services). The Platform will help to drive the scale and maturity of mass market investment within the UK real estate and maximize profits thanks to price forecasting, in-depth analysis of historical data and recommendations for upgrade of properties’ facilities to improve the ROI.

The main challenges would be to lead the technical design of data platform features, take over the development of the most complex functionalities, and set strategic objectives for improvement of the data platform in cooperation with the VP of Engineering and Head of Data. Senior Data Engineer’s job would be to act as a major contributor to the selection of tools and technical solutions for the data platform.


  • At least 5 years in Python software development and data engineering
  • Experience in designing data platforms from scratch or improving existing platforms, making well-grounded decisions to select the best-suited technical stack
  • Profound experience with AWS services with a focus on data processing
  • Experience of building and setting up Amazon EMR (especially using Spark and Hive), Amazon ECS and ECR services is a must
  • Experience with data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques
  • Experience with ETL, building pipelines out of complex and high-volume datasets
  • Agile mindset and fondness for Scrum processes
  • At least Upper-Intermediate level of English

  • Develop and launch new features to satisfy business needs, take over the most complex functionalities, considering dependencies on other products
  • Be an active and engaged owner of data infrastructure, create and support EMR in Amazon to utilize data warehousing
  • Build data pipelines, ETL processes, optimize performance of complex data sets
  • Support Serverless architecture with an emphasis on security, observability, reliability, and high performance of the products
  • Collaborate with Data, Product, and Engineering teams to iterate on the roadmap
  • Comply with the best engineering practices, technical standards, and quality criteria set forth on the project, including unit and integration testing
