Sigma Software is looking for a Head of Automation Product Development with strong experience in building innovative solutions. Primary mission is to control the portfolio of business-decisive company internal and commercial products and take them to the next level. It’s up to this person to make sure that internal tools, systems, and applications are purposefully built at the current stage, while also taking into account future needs necessary to function at top speed as the company grows.   

Being in touch with all company functions, contributing to implementation of the company’s globalization strategy, running capital software development projects aimed at better efficiency, speed, and flexibility are all important aspects of working as a Head of Automation Product Development.  

The ideal candidate will be expected to identify all current and future needs and build innovative, scalable solutions that are both user-friendly and business-enhancing. This person will be challenged to work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer to build internal automation development strategy and ensure that purposes and requirements for company’s digitalization are effectively forecasted, prioritized, and met. The role ensures that internal digital initiatives are fully integrated into strategic planning, including leadership commitment, resource allocation, and execution. This position is strategic in nature, and you will be required to look at and influence medium to long-term business goals.   

You will report to the EVP of Delivery and work closely with delivery units to execute automation strategy.  

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager, Portfolio Manager or similar, with expertise in coordinating portfolios and building highly scalable, extensible solutions  
  • Proven record of designing solutions from vision to execution, and making decisions in the short, medium, and long term based on organizational goals and values  
  • Experienced in leading teams and moving people into action toward a common vision and goal, holding the highest standards of excellence and accuracy in work  
  • Able to lead yourself and others with clear communication and strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities at once including across teams in the company when necessary  
  • Good knowledge and modeling skills in Business and Enterprise Architecture domains  
  • Expert knowledge of Project and Program Management, tools and techniques  
  • Experience in managing portfolios of products  
  • Strong understanding of key architectural concepts such as API, SOA, ETL, etc.  
  • Advanced in documenting as-is and to-be pictures in both business and software engineering language   
  • Advanced understanding of the corporate environment and objectives  
  • Experience in advising key stakeholders at senior management and board level  
  • Proactive and highly organized with strong time management and planning skills  
  • Advanced or fluent English. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Experience leading and managing remote workforce  

Responsibilities

  • General digitalization planning:  
    • Thanks to close cooperation with company functions, be able to ground and plan capital projects aimed at better company’s ROI, effectiveness, and competitiveness  
    • In close cooperation with the Chief Innovation Officer, maintain internal automation development strategy, bringing innovation and clarity of the enterprise architecture  
    • Define directions of development for internal products automation, set up goals, including tracking progress and overall performance, analyze results, present findings and competitive advantages to the company’s management  
    • Facilitate and drive spin-offs of internal automation to commercial sales  
    • Develop the company’s network aimed at using internal automation products outside the organization and raise additional funds for further product development 
  • Execution:  
    • Lead and manage Project Managers to maintain the full software project lifecycle, and support the building of industry-leading, search engine optimized, robust and innovative software solutions that fit the purpose  
    • Facilitate the team’s technological and methodological decision-making, including standardization of system architecture, reusable code base development, software tools versions, best practices, source control, and deployment processes 
    • Control the quality and technical approach of the team, ensuring it aligns with the company’s strategy and that projects are delivered on time and on budget  
    • Implement the company’s HR policy and participate directly in recruitment of personnel for your needs in cooperation with Human Resource and Recruiting Department   
    • Provide staff scheduling including work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, etc.  
    • Manage products portfolio, including providing transparency of products purpose for the company’s employees  
  • Work with KPIs:
    • Introduce and maintain product KPIs to understand the impact on users, their comfort, motivation, and effectiveness  
    • Track and improve engineering and product management practices  
    • Track and ensure the achievement of the expected effect of capital projects, mainly impact on speed, effectiveness, cost savings and company image
