Are you passionate about architecture, scalable distributed systems, and emerging AI technologies? We are looking for a Software Architect with strong expertise in Node.js and AI integration technologies to help build scalable engineering foundations for enterprise-wide MCP adoption.

This role combines architecture leadership, platform engineering, and hands-on development focused on reusable MCP integrations, AI orchestration, and enterprise architecture standards. At Sigma Software, you will work on technically challenging products, collaborate with experienced engineering teams, and help shape scalable solutions for a modern European FinTech company.

The company provides embedded financial services, including virtual cards, bank transfers, account management, and payment operations through scalable APIs and modern financial technology solutions. Operating in a high-scale and rapidly evolving environment, the Customer places strong emphasis on engineering excellence, platform scalability, and architectural consistency.

Project

The project focuses on building the engineering foundation for enterprise-wide MCP adoption across multiple product teams. The initiative aims to establish shared architecture standards, reusable TypeScript/Node.js libraries, SDKs, templates, and development practices that enable scalable and consistent MCP-compatible integrations.

As a Software Architect, you will lead the design of scalable MCP-based integration solutions, establish engineering standards, and develop reusable platform components for AI orchestration, context management, authentication, and service integrations. You will also contribute to defining integration approaches and architecture best practices across multiple engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of production experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
  • 2+ years of experience in software architecture, backend platform engineering, or technical leadership roles
  • Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js ecosystem development
  • Proven experience designing distributed systems, APIs, SDKs, frameworks, or developer platforms
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles, interface design, versioning strategies, and reusable platform components
  • Practical experience with MCP clients, servers, tools, resources, and LLM tool invocation
  • Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
  • Experience defining scalable architecture standards and reusable engineering practices
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions in high-scale environments
  • Upper-Intermediate or higher English level

WILL BE A PLUS:

  • Experience with A2A communication and agent orchestration platforms
  • Background in AI/ML platform engineering
  • Familiarity with FinTech products, payment systems, or embedded finance solutions
  • Experience contributing to architectural governance and engineering standards at scale

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement core MCP platform capabilities, including MCP clients, servers, tool invocation patterns, and integrations with existing backend services
  • Define reference architectures and engineering standards for MCP servers, tools, resources, schemas, authentication, context handling, and versioning
  • Build reusable TypeScript/Node.js libraries, SDKs, templates, and starter projects for product teams
  • Design shared capabilities around conversation state, agent state, context management, and orchestration workflows
  • Establish architectural guidance for selecting between MCP, A2A communication, traditional APIs, and service-to-service integration patterns
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to review solution designs and document best practices
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in AI integration and platform engineering initiatives
  • Ensure platform scalability, maintainability, security, and operational excellence
  • Define architecture vision and technical standards for enterprise-wide MCP adoption
  • Drive cross-team technical alignment and support strategic architecture decisions
